Working in Aged Care and Disability can be a tremendously rewarding career, knowing that every time you do a shift you are making a huge difference to somebody’s quality of life. However, as rewarding as it may be nobody said that it will be easy. As anyone who has ever worked in the caring sector will tell you no two shifts are the same. Some of the clients that you work with may as first be a little resistant to help, they might be confused, aggressive or suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s. And that’s where the professionalism, compassion and commitment of our staff come in. Optimum Care is as only as good as its carers and that’s why only the best carers will do.


What We Are Looking For?

Optimum Care are looking for people who are passionate about caring for others and delivering the best service. We want those who are strong communicators, compassionate, empathetic and willing to go above and beyond what is required of them. You will have to be flexible, understanding, have lots of common sense and be able to work autonomously. Our Carers come from many walks of life so if you are a stay at home Mum who is looking for a few hours of paid work, a mature person with lots of life experience who wants to give something back or a recently graduated student from a health care discipline who would like to add to their experience then Optimum Care would love to hear from you. Aside from the these attributes you also must have the following;

  • At least six months experience working in Aged Care or disability
  • Have a Certificate III in Aged and Community Care or a Certificate IV in Disability
  • A full Victorian drivers licence and access to an insured vehicle
  • A minimum of two contactable referees, at least one must be from a previous or current employer
  • A clear National Police check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
